Become an Associate Member of The Arc of Ohio
The Arc of Ohio invites any organization of people with developmental disabilities, parents, friends and/or service providers, corporations or government entities, located and functioning in the State of Ohio, which supports the Mission and Core Values of The Arc of Ohio, but does not desire status as a Local Chapter. Associate members may not use The Arc logo, but may identify themselves as Associate Members of The Arc of Ohio.
Benefits
The right to identify your organization as an Associate Member of The Arc of Ohio;
The right to the most current information for the State of Ohio and the Nation;
The right to Board representation and voting power (one elected representative from each Associate Membership category);
Receiving The Arc of Ohio Board of Trustee mailings and quarterly meeting minutes, as well as other regular publications.
Categories
There shall be three classifications of Associate Membership. Dues for associate membership shall be determined by the Board of Trustees, based on each classification:
Adjunct An organization seeking admission as an Associate Member under the Adjunct Classification must have advocacy as a primary purpose, and may or may not be a provider of services. This will be determined by review of bylaws, mission statements, current practices and budget information of the organization seeking admission.
Advocacy An organization seeking admission as an Associate Member under the Advocacy Classification must have advocacy as its primary purpose; and does not provide contracted service to individuals with developmental disabilities within the State of Ohio This will be determined by review of bylaws, mission statements, current practices and budget information of the organization seeking admission.
Provider/Government A Provider/Government Associate Member is one which provides some type of service/support to individuals with developmental disabilities within the State of Ohio. This will be determined by review of by-laws, mission statements, current practices and budget information of the organization seeking admission.
The Membership Committee will encourage employees and individuals within the Associate Member Category to join The Arc of Ohio as individual members.
