Welcome to The Arc of Ohio Website
The Arc of Ohio works to create a world where children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities have and enjoy equal rights and opportunities.
We recognize the fundamental role of families in making choices and decisions for their children.
We also hold that individuals, who are adults, have the right to make their own choices concerning where and with whom they will live, and how they will spend their time, regardless of ability.
We have members throughout Ohio including people with developmental disabilities, parents and other family members, educators and professionals working in the field and interested persons from the general public.
The Arc of Ohio is an integral part of a nationwide, non-profit, voluntary movement.

Dear Friends of The Arc of Ohio,
Thank you for your continued support of Ohioans with developmental disabilities and their families. Because of your generosity and thousands of others, over 60,000 people with DD are served in community settings throughout Ohio and over 150,000 children receive special education. As you know, however, our work is far from over.
Over 30,000 Ohioans with DD and their families continue to wait for the help they need and we estimate that twice the number have either not yet asked for help or don’t know help exists.
As Ohio’s oldest and largest volunteer lead organization representing children & adults with developmental disabilities and their families, The Arc has been instrumental in assuring that your voice is heard in the Ohio Statehouse. We continue to move ahead in spite of the worst economy since the Great Depression with the proposed addition of a new Home and Community Based Waiver for next year; amendments to current Waivers which will provide more appropriate supports; and the continuance of Family Support Services and Medicaid optional benefits.
The rights of Ohioans with developmental disabilities and their families is our number one priority. It is only through your support that we continue to provide advocacy and a voice for families.
Please do what you can this holiday season to support the efforts of The Arc of Ohio. Help us in our continuing struggle to be the voice for children and adults with developmental disabilities in Ohio.
You can make your contribution by clicking on the "Donate Now" link above.
Sincerely,
Gary A. Tonks, Executive Director & Judy Murray, President
