The 2022/23 State Budget reflects an historic increase in provider rates. The opening session will include a discussion of how and when these rates will become effective as well as new initiatives within the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD)

Administrative Rules are being finalized to support individuals with developmental disabilities through both the Ohio Departments of Medicaid & Developmental Disabilities. These rules will affect not only who may provide services, but where and how often services can be authorized. This is a must see session for individuals supported by waivers, providers and county board representatives.

The authorization and delivery of participant directed services is too often considered a mystery to both those authorizing the support and those in need of support. This session is an overview of Participant Directed Service, both Homemaker/Personal Care and Participant Directed Goods/Services with an emphasis on how those services should be requested with the authorization and delivery process.
2:00 p.m. Systems Advocacy in Action Gary Tonks, President/CEO & David Lewis, Vice President - The Arc of Ohio
Gary & David will discuss “The Arc Way” of doing business with an emphasis on grassroots participation/representation. Given a day of current pending rules and plans within DODD, the presentation will be a discussion of what individuals and families need from the current support system. Participants will be encouraged to provide their recommendations and suggestions regarding: current assessment tools such as the Ohio Developmental Disability Profile, Acuity Assessment, Extraordinary Care Assessment as well as the new Individual Service Plans and Waivers in general.
