Requesting Input for Appendix K Flexibilities

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is seeking your feedback on the flexibilities provided through the Appendix K authority during the Federal Public Health Emergency (PHE). Prior to the end of the PHE, the State of Ohio must make decisions about which, if any, flexibilities to seek approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) to keep permanently in the three 1915(c) waivers administered by DODD.
Therefore, ODM and DODD are asking for public input on which flexibilities were effective.
* The specific flexibilities provided by Appendix K include, but are not limited to,
– shared living and homemaker/personal care on the same day,
– parents of minor children having permission to be paid providers,
– onboarding flexibilities,
– respite extensions, and
– prior authorization flexibility.
The email addresses to send feedback are

HCBSpolicy@medicaid.ohio.gov and waiverfeedback@dodd.ohio.gov

ODM and DODD will compile all input for consideration and will share feedback through various means.
